No. Metcom eFax is entirely cloud-based. Inbound faxes are delivered as PDF to email and outbound faxes are sent by attaching a PDF to an email. No hardware is required at any point.
When a fax arrives on your DID number, our platform automatically converts it to PDF and delivers it to the configured email address. The whole process is automatic and takes seconds.
Yes. Email-to-Fax lets you send a fax by addressing an email to the destination fax number and attaching a PDF. The platform transmits it automatically without any additional software.
The platform supports T.38 natively for IP fax transmission, with automatic G.711 fallback for lines that do not support T.38. This ensures maximum compatibility with all receiving fax equipment.
All faxes are stored in self-hosted, S3-compatible object storage. Your documents never touch a third-party cloud service. Storage is on your infrastructure and stays under your control.
